There's a super freaky feature too, well not freaky but pretty out there. It let's you plug your electronics in… like digital cameras, MP3 players, etc. You can rock your music through the speakers (which are way-hidden, I didn't even know where they were) or watching videos/look at pictures on your TV from your USB drive or camera. I don't really use it but it's pretty wicked right?
The 30,000:1 contrast ratio means you know… way black blacks and way white whites. Everything looks… right. If you ever had one of those first gen LCD HDTVs you'll know what I mean, those things were horrid in comparison. Also, anything with 15,000:1 ratio above 40" looks pretty bad IMO.Samsung also added some weird engine business… it improves the picture quality; they call it the "Digital Natural Image Engine". It like, enhances the contrast and makes it sharper looking or something. Oh and there's MODES! You can go through all of them and they have video-specific settings… like there's one for gaming, one for movies, one for sports, etc. so you can play with those as well. I just stick to the movies preset for all the content I watch but its nice to have options right?
I've also hooked the Samsung LN46A550 up to my computer with the PC input – makes one HUGE ASS monitor! Plus my friend introduced me to this thing called Windows Media Center… I turned my old computer into a bad ass media center that has all my music and movies. All of it can be accessed from the sleek interface with the fancy little remote. Pure awesomeness. The colors, the audio, everything is great about the LCD HDTV IMO. Just remember to get all of the appropriate cables! I spaced it the first time around and forgot to get some HDMI cables.
